Juan Franco understands that this year is an important opportunity, taking as reference the rehabilitation of the bullringwith the idea of ​​returning to its original state, and to celebrate the centenary of the first edition of the novel in 1922.

The councilor has also reported the idea of ​​moving this event to Fitur next year and intend to apply for a twinning with Dublina city in which every year, coinciding with June 16, different activities are organized, with theaters, events and visits to the places that appear in the play, for approximately fifty years.

Franco has also underlined his connection with an educational project developed by the IES Toulousea center where an awards ceremony will take place on the 16th, which has made it possible to raise awareness among students about the importance of reading and the context of this work.

Varied program of activities and prize draw

The program will begin on Thursday, June 16, from 11:30 a.m., with the presentation of the Ulises Y reading passages from the work in the municipal library and the Ares university bookstorean act in which municipal authorities and the characters from the novel characterized for this purpose will participate.

At 1:00 p.m. it will open in the Farinas Square a collection point for raffle ballots that has been organized on the occasion of this date.
