12 Great Hidden Easter Eggs In Spider-Man: Homecoming

MADRID, 29 Jul. (CultureLeisure) –

Peter Parker is already home and the foul-mouthed wall-crawler played by Tom Holland lands on his feet in his solo debut with Spider-Man: Homecoming. She does it by starring in a film that fits perfectly into the MCU to which she dedicates several nods… along with the mythology of the popular web shooter.

And it is that Spider-Man: Homecoming is postulated as the best film adaptation of the launcher to date. And for this, Spidey appeals to numerous references to pop culture, the Marvel Cinematic Universe… and comic book fans of the irreverent superhero created by Steve Ditko and Stan Lee.

From the anticipation of future and fearsome villains, to the tender tribute to the Spidey of the 60s, through recreating one of the most iconic covers of the wall-crawler comics… In CultureOcio we review 12 of the best ‘easter egg’ of Spider-Man Homecoming:

1. THE RIGHT HAND OF THE VULTURE

The Tinkerer Gamers

In Spider-Man: Homecoming, Michael Keaton’s Vulture hovers menacingly over Peter Parker and flies high as a villain… thanks, among other things, to the support of his right-hand man Mason (Michael Chernus), who builds all the technological ‘gadgets’ carried by Spider-Man’s fearsome rival. Few will know that Mason was one of Spidey’s first villains in the comics, in which he appeared as a fearsome engineer under the name The Terrible Tinkerer.

2. THE GODPARENTS OF PETER PARKER

Homecoming is the first Spider-Man movie in which he arrives sponsored by none other than an Avenger like Tony Stark.. The billionaire playboy keeps a close eye on Spidey, as he did alongside Captain America in the Alternate Universe comics, in which Peter Parker is forced to join SHIELD’s Ultimate Team (the Avengers version) when he turns 18.

3. THE MAIN THEME

The movie opens with a big nod to spider mythology, instead of playing the usual music while the Marvel logo is projected, Homecoming pays a great tribute to the 1967 animated Spidey by adapting its legendary soundtrack.

4. PETER’S COMPANIONS

classmates

Peter Parker’s school life is here longer than in any other wall-crawling movie. That makes it easy for the writers to introduce legendary comic book characters who walked Spider-Man from class to class like Ned Leeds, Liz Allan, Flash Thompson and Betty Brant.

5. “MY FRIENDS CALL ME MJ”

Zendaya in Spider Man Homecoming

in Homecoming Zendaya plays Michelle, although it is not until the last throes of the film that she lets her friends know that they can call her MJ.…and as any Spidey fan worth their salt will know, those are the initials on the cartoons of Mary Jane Watson, the web-slinger’s great love.

6. THE ORIGINS OF THE SCORPION

The man the Vulture meets on the ferry to close the arms deal and ends up in prison is Mac Gargan.…who will eventually become the Scorpion, one of Spider-Man’s most popular villains.

7. ROBOTIC MARRIAGE

One of the great improvements to the Spider-Man suit that Iron Man gives him is Karen, a kind of Siri who assists the irreverent trepamruos in his adventures. Few will know that it is the actress Jennifer Connelly who gives voice to Karen and her husband in real life, Paul Bettany, was in turn the one who gave his to Jarvis, the artificial intelligence present in the Iron Man suit.

8. DONALD GLOVER’S NEPHEW

Despite having a very brief role in Homecoming, Donald Glover plays Aaron Davis, who will eventually become the villain known as the Prowler. (Prowler). And while he’s being questioned by Spidey, Davis mentions a nephew who lives nearby…who in the comics is none other than Miles Morales, the Ultimate Spider-Man.

9.IRON SPIDER

After the final epic aerial battle, Peter Parker is transferred to the new Avengers headquarters where Iron Man offers to become one of them by accepting a brutal new suit.…which closely resembles the one known as the Iron Spider, which Tony Stark himself builds for Spidey during the Civil War of the comics.

10. THE MYTHICAL COMIC COVER

Wall-crawler movies have paid homage to many comic book covers and scenes in the past… and Homecoming was no different. At the end of the film, when the Vulture drops an entire roof on Spider-Man, the exact sequence from issue 33 of Steve Ditko’s mazing Spider-Man is recreated.

11 THE DRONE

One of the coolest surprises in the spectacular suit that Stark Industries manufactures for Spidey includes an arachnid drone that is capable of complementing the actions of the wall-crawler when he is fighting crime.. A gadget reminiscent of the one built by Peter Parker under the name Buzzbee, which he uses to take photos that he can then present to Jonah Jameson while he is Spider-Man, thus removing that work from him.

12 THE SECRET IDENTITY

Tony Stark and Peter Parker Spider Man Homecoming

At the end of the film, Tony Stark offers Peter Parker to join the Avengers and for this, he must make his secret identity public.… an act that the billionaire playboy also performs in the comics and to which Peter does agree this time, inadvertently putting his entire family in danger.
