According to the report, Lesslie has decided to leave her work on “Battlestar Galactica” to be part of an adaptation of the trilogy “MaddAddam”, novels written by Margaret Atwood, creator of the novelThe Handmaid’s Tale”. In the same way as the homonymous series, this new adaptation will be part of the exclusive catalog of Hulu.
Recent reports indicate that, rather than a reboot, the new “Battlestar Galactica” will be an expansion of the series released in the early 2000’s created by Ronald Moore. After the development of the project, Esmail would admit to having had some problems at the time of its creation.

During a chat with TheHollywood Reporter, Esmail would have already presented himself as a great fan of Ronald Moore’s work with “Battlestar Galactica”, although he would not be entirely sure that he would be able to produce science fiction of that caliber. “I love her, I’m a big fan. But I knew from the beginning that we were going to bring in someone to run the room and write the scripts,” Esmail said.
Esmail has also anticipated that the series would follow an unconventional television format, with longer episodes than others or even story arcs presented in just three episodes. He also clarified that this new “Battlestar Galactica” will not have a completely chronological story, playing with different time jumps in its plot.
