Rocky Balboathe sixth installment in the saga of the boxer who embodied Sylvester Stalloneserved in 2006 as a return for both the titular character and the series as a whole, following the disappointment of Rocky V in 1990. Stallone has a special place in his heart for this sequel, which relaunched the franchise after 16 years, and now (more than a decade after its release), the actor reveals why the film represents the “hardest challenge” you’ve ever faced.
the actor of Rambo was incredibly nostalgic on Instagram, where he shared a behind-the-scenes look at a training session for Rocky Balboathe sixth part of the story of the legendary boxer from Philadelphia. sly He bet everything on the film, and not just from a physical point of view. In his post, the actor discussed what it took to make the sequel exist in the first place:
“I love the sixth installment. It was the hardest challenge I’ve ever had. It took over 12 years for it to happen… Nobody wanted to do it. Absolutely nobody. It was considered a joke. But in my heart I loved the idea and I thought that if I’m going to go out, I want to go out and make this movie. Even though no one involved with the other previous productions wanted anything to do with it, and it was finally done against all odds!”
Despite the adversities the film faced while developing production, Sylvester Stallone he was able to make the film he wanted. He knew the sequel would be what viewers wanted to see from the aging boxer, and today that story serves as the actor’s proudest moment. What would our lives be without Sly’s iconic monologue to his son (Milo Ventimiglia) about the importance of continuing to move forward despite adversity? the actor of The indestructibles He went on to explain how the making of the 2006 film compared:
“When people ask me what your most memorable movie moment is, I say Rocky Balboa, definitely. That was the ultimate challenge. The first Rocky movie, of course, was amazing… [incluso ganó Mejor Película en los Oscar]. But this was an almost impossible dream. I pushed that rock uphill for 12 long years against overwhelming negativity until it finally happened…almost by accident. One day I will tell the whole story.”
Hopefully Sly will actually tell the rest of that story one day. While the sixth film did a lot for the franchise’s legacy, the Academy Award-nominated star also gives it even more credit, as he attributes his success to the creation of believe: “The irony is that if Rocky Balboa had never been made, the Creed story would never have been made. My thanks to MGM. So, he keeps hitting!”
The franchises of creed and rocky will be united forever thanks to the work of Sylvester Stallone and Ryan Coogler (who conceived the idea of the first) Michael B Jordan (who plays Creed and will direct the new film), as well as many others. MGM certainly deserves credit for taking a chance on the Philadelphia-bred fighter, who last appeared on the big screen in Believe II, where he also met Dolph Lundgren and the iconic Soviet fighter, Ivan Drago.

While Stallone will reportedly not appear on Creed III (set for release later this year), the 75-year-old actor clearly still has a lot of love for his iconic character and a surprise cameo isn’t out of the question. He always shares images remembering the movies or some behind the scenes moment, and that love for the saga extends to the fansboth new and old.
